Hi Mr Lim, may I ask for the sound discrimination test, would it be a written or aural test?
ReplyDeleteDoes sound discrimination refers to for eg.:
Same sounds
soft C and /S
natural C and /K
ee and ea
soft G and J.....
Hi Joanne,
DeleteThe sound discrimination is testing them on the beginning sounds, middle sounds and ending sounds. For example:
Which of the following has the same beginning sound as 'town'?
A. tiger
B. gorilla
C. lion
Answer: A
Which of the following has the same middle sound as 'sleep'
A. siren
B. whistle
C. sweet
Answer: C
Which of the following has the same ending sound as 'snail'
A. spider
B. cat
C. mail
Answer: C
The above are just examples only. They will be tested on the words they were exposed to in the big books. The worksheets in their files will be a good gauge to what they have been exposed to.
Cheers!
Danny Lim
